Just wanted to share some good news, my main site below is on Google page 1 for 'best home business' and I am delighted.
I would be delighted too!
Your site is very nice. Comes up fast, and other WordPress sites are usually not. It's orderly and asks for no navigation since (afaik) it's all in one place.
If your site gives you satisfactory results, it will serve its purpose. I understand that it's far from finished, so you'll probably try different variations and tracking to give you knowledge about what works best for you. Here are some things that you might want to consider. These are my personal views, and you may feel otherwise -- which is OK.
There's some overlap for those who want to reduce the browser window.
I'm one of them because I often have several windows on screen at the same time, which means I'll have to reduce the window. If I do that with your site, here's what happens:
In other words, there's an overlap of column 2 into column 3.
Personally I prefer max. 2 columns, which makes the site easier to read.
Also, if I let the mouse hover over "Bookmark & Share" a new object appears, which covers some of the text. I think that's annoying, even if all you have to do is move the pointer away. I would have preferred this window to either be static, to push the text away so it's not covered, or make it necessary to click, giving the user a choice.
I work with a site daily, with menues that work like this, and I think it's very disturbing. Better to click if you really WANT the menu to appear.
You are using Google adwords or something to that effect. I tried that once, and found that I was advertising for my competitors. Not a good thing, so I stopped using it. Besides, I've only used Traffic Exchanges for my marketing, and adwords is banned there.
The most important thing is: Does it bring in money? If it does, it serves its purpose. The point is, it MIGHT bring in more money if some things were done a little differently.
I wish you the best of luck. Do what you think is best, and always test alternatives. Setting up different sites with the same theme could give you an idea about what works best without having to wait too long to be able to compare results.
