A leader does not sweat the small things. They don't complain if there is a slight glitch at a site, they go and do something else instead.

A true leader doesn't complain that they have to put their hand in their pocket and pay for something to not only benefit themselves but to benefit the surfing team they're a member of.

A true leader motivates people, encourages people when they're feeling low, makes them laugh.

A true leader says "let's go".

So what in your opinion makes a true leader?

The meaning of a leader to me is this:
A leader must be willing to take the time to sit down and develop a real understanding of the drives and ambitions of each team member and to encourage the potential of each one.

Our team leader Evelyn has taught me a lot about good leadership skills - Passion, care for the people you are leading, show up everyday, lead by example and keep developing and growing.
