I'm running VBox 3.0.0 on XP with a Slack 12 guest, kernel (guest additions 3.0.0 ARE installed successfully). My xorg.conf has only one resolution set (1680x1050). This was working great on VirtualBox 2.4.4. Whenever issuing startx, the system would boot into 1680x1050 no problem. After installing VirtualBox 3.0.0, startx only uses 1024x768. Knowing I can change the res manually, I issue "xrandr -s 1680x1050" from within a shell in X, and the resolution gets a LOT bigger than 1680x1050. I don't know the full value, but looks like 1800x1350 or something. This happens in Enlightenment AND xfce. I've tried disabling/enabling 3d acceleration with no luck. It seems as though there's a translation issue between what linux is outputting and virtualbox. I've noticed a somewhat similar problem in a Debian guest as well (although, haven't touched the guest additions since installing VBox 3).Has anyone else had this problem?

Please help.

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
