Banners

To get started with adding a banner, you'll need to know the Ad URL and the Site URL. The Ad URL is the GIF, JPG, or PNG image file. The Site URL is the website you want the visitor to goto when they click your Ad.

Sometimes you'll be given HTML code like the exmple below. The Ad URL can be found in the IMG tag, in between the quotes of the SRC attribute (in orange). The Site URL can be found in the A tag, in between the quotes of the HREF attribute (in red). Simply copy and paste the URLs from inside the code, into the website manager.

<A HREF="http://www.timlinden.com/blog/advertising/new-banner-campaign/" TARGET="_blank">
<IMG SRC="http://www.startxchange.com/tim/daddy.png" WIDTH=468 HEIGHT=60 BORDER=0>
</A>

Once you have the URLs inserted, you can click Add and you'll see a preview of the banner. Look at it, click it, and if it doesn't work how you want it to, click back and edit the URLs. The preview is how it'll look exactly, so make sure it looks right before hitting Yes.

And finally, the banner needs to be approved by the support team. There is no need to contact them, they'll do it as soon as possible. You can assign banner impressions before it has been approved if you wish, so once it is it'll start being shown. Remember that StartXchange is a Family Friendly exchange, and so banners that show content not suitable for children won't be approved.
