Wow! That’s all I can say! Thanks to all the members who have helped StartXchange be where it is today. I was ready to get some postcards made and send them to everyone who purchased this year, but I now have a daughter who wants my time instead of writing out the addresses. I’m saying NO to Paid to Promote

I know some will not like this, but I’m saying NO to Paid to Promote sites. For a good amount of time they were used properly, but they are now being abused like crazy. There are even Paid to Promote sites that are popping up with hidden iframes of other PTP sites inside of them.

If you are advertising a PTP page or website, please take it out of rotation now. Over time I will be banning them and removing them. If you are surfing and see one please report it as “Overloaded”. At some point I’ll put in a separate category “Paid to Promote”

Website Checker Status

You may or may not know that at one point I started to use the “Focus4 Checker”. There were some problems and since then I’ve begun work on my own. One thing I’ve found out while creating it is many sites are actually returning 404 errors even though the page displays in the browser. This will cause it to mark your site as having problems. I’ve written a post in the forum to show you how to check if your sites are working correctly.

Missed a week

I missed a week, and I apologize for that. I’ve been quite busy preparing for a baby who is due any day now. Days are blurring together and so I’m having trouble remember which day is today! So last friday I didn’t realize it was friday, and it wasn’t until Sunday that I realized I forgot to write the newsletter.

StartXchange Tips

Got tips? I’m looking for people to post their traffic exchange tips! You may be thinking “I’m too new at this!”. Well guess what, you probably have tips that will help people who are just as new as you!

The tips can be anything related to traffic exchanges and we all get to vote if we like or dislike tips, and then the tips will be listed by how much they are liked! That way new users can browse the tips and find the best ones first.

Right now there isn’t any incentive to post tips, but you know me, I’ll come up with something soon enough. So you can post a tip or read the tips!

Team Competition Results!

Ok, so I made a bit of a mistake. I forgot to copy and paste the actual numbers before closing the result window. I do know the three teams that won and they are:

Pineropers Maniacs - Team OBA - Team Ttiger (Let’s Do It!!)

Pineropers won top average surfing, OBA won top total surfing, and Ttiger won top refering. There was a tie for top refering, but OBA already won top surfing. They each refered 61 new members!

I don’t remember exactly how much each team won, but I do know one team had 300 credits going to each member, and another had 500! The jackpot was huge, and I really wish I didn’t close the window =P

Almost at 20,000!

Wow this is really exciting. StartXchange hit 19,500 members! That means we are only 500 away from 20,000! I’d like to reach that number before the new year, so I’ll be giving out 1,000 credits to the top 10 promoters of December if we hit 20,000!

Are you learning anything?

You know the forum is great, and people are learning from each other. Just this morning I saw someone’s splash page they made after getting input from the forum. You can check it out here. Well had that person not taken a chance and asked for some input, he probably wouldn’t have the splash page he now has today!

There has been some talk about reasons why people wouldn’t post in the forum. The biggest reason is fear of stupidity. Poeple think they’ll look silly in front of everyone else. Well that is a perfectly valid reason, but I’m here to tell you everyone was new to this at some point, and had to make the jump, and we all know it. We’d love to help you advance to the next level of marketing so please, ask your questions.
