Do You Know “The Secret”?

Wednesday, May 31st, 2006

Sometimes, sitting in front of a computer screen clicking away for credits can get tedious, especially when you’re tired or not feeling up to par. Yet, put your mind into “selling” mode. Remember that every time you see someone else’s site, another person is also seeing yours. Surfing is an opportunity! And it’s often free. How great is that?

I didn’t learn this on my own and used to feel that surfing was a chore. That is, until Joe Sansoucie opened my eyes. It’s been quite a while now, and the funny part is that Joe doesn’t even know it because I don’t run into him too often online. He lives in CA and I’m in FL and most of the conferences I can get to, he can’t and vice versa. However, he’s a great guy and one to watch, for sure. In fact, I’m going to put his Quikkonex feed here for your benefit:

Joe has lots of great information there, and it’s my way of thanking him for opening my eyes and you for reading this blog.

However, Joe’s not really The Secret I’m talking about. The Secret is a movie that may change your life. That is, if your mind is open to the possibilities. This great secret has been known by all the successful people you can think of–Einstein, Carnegie, and even Jack Canfield from the Chicken Soup books. Canfield is even in this movie, along with other successful folks like Dr. Joe Vitale, James Ray, and a host of others you’ve probably never heard of, but who are heavyweights in the real world.

The Secret isn’t free. You’ll have to pay $4.95 to get it, but trust me, it’s the best $4.95 you’ll spend, if it only works to increase your enthusiasm for the task at hand.

Watch the movie. Follow The Secret and surf. Good things come to those who expect them. Here’s the link: http://thesecret.tv/home.html  You’re going to feel great!

Who Do You See?

Wednesday, May 17th, 2006

While reading the posts on NetMarketingForum today, Michel Lavergne posted the question: “Who Do You See the Most While Surfing?

Hmm… I know you see Tim Linden from StartXchange. And you probably see me from OVMarketing and Jon Olson from ILoveHits and Pat Lovell of Traffic Soldiers, but who do you see most?

I’d have to say, “Tony Tezak.” Tony’s an awesome guy and one of the best team leaders I know. He manages to raise a team and keep them active in almost every program he joins! That’s not an easy task, as many of you will agree, I’m sure. But the point is that people know Tony because they see his smiling face everywhere. He’s BRANDED his image online and when people see a site he’s promoting, they join because they “know” Tony, whether they know him personally or not.

But branding is a double-edged sword, isn’t it? You want people to join your programs, but what happens when a program you’re promoting turns out not to be so hot? We’ve all run into them. The thing is, if you’re going to get people to trust you, don’t promote every program out there. Either develop a product of your own or only deal with quality, established programs that you have tried first and can truly be proud of.

Branding is one of the most important things you can do in online business and it works very well for traffic exchanges. If you hate your pictures, take new ones, until you find one you like. I’m sure you’ve seen mine and I usually hate my pictures, too. I think I went through a couple of rolls before that one was even remotely suitable. :-) But the point is…

Let people know you. Promote programs with integrity and always try it yourself first. You’ll be amazed at how many people you can attract into your downlines or onto your list by using a photograph, a simple technique that can make your business soar.

Things to Do and Surfing, Too

Wednesday, May 3rd, 2006

Surfing for traffic day after day, seeing the same sites over and over again can be boring. Though it’s fair to actually READ the sites you see as they go by and evaluate programs and offers, as you want other marketers to read and evaluate yours, much of what you see is something you’ve passed on before.

So, what do you do? I have some ideas to help you ease the boredom that will also teach you along the way.

I’ve been a big fan of audio training since I first discovered it, and register for calls that interest me without hesitation. Sure, you get some email in connection with these, but if it gets too overwhelming, you can always hit the old “cancel” button. But I figure I owe it to the marketers behind these calls to check out their offers. Still, when they mail me EVERY danged day, well… that’s what delete is for.

Anyway, the reason I sign up in the first place is to try and listen to the calls in real time. Yet, so many of them are at 8 p.m. or later. I’m sorry, but my sidewalk goes up around that time. I start at 6 a.m., so we’re talking having put in a 14 hour day already. I make the best of them when I can, but leave the rest. Why do I sign up then?

Most of the people holding these calls make recordings. That’s always great because the next day or shortly thereafter, they offer these calls or webcasts to people who have signed up. So, I can put on my trusty Plantronics headset and listen while I surf. The audio is easy to stop when I see something I want to peruse while surfing, and it works out well all the way around.

It’s best to download the mp3s, if possible. You can play them back on your iPod, or in your car, or just listen to them at your computer. The only problem is that so many site owners are using audio clips on their sites, that it sometimes gets very frustrating to hear the calls. I really hate that, but they say audio really works and I’m almost ready to accept it in my own marketing toolbox. Almost.

Anyway, here’s some information on the best of the best:

Marketer’s Deathmatch.com

This site is the creation of Tellman Knudson, a wonderboy in online marketing. I started listening to these calls with him actually, at ListCrusade, where you can hear some of the past webcasts and calls. However, the Marketer’s Deathmatch calls have Alex Mandossian as one of the contestants often, and well… I just think he knows a LOT. I love to listen to him and every time I do, I learn something. Sign up and listen to these calls as you surf.

Reality Teleseminars at InnerCircle.com

This site is another Tellman Knudson invention, with his partner… Yep. Alex Mandossian. What’s cool about this site is that you’re in on pre-launches of important products as Tellman or Alex discuss the programs or offers with the owners of those sites, in real time. You can listen in on the calls, or you can download them from the site and listen at your convenience. Sign up for $1. After 7 days, it will cost you $29 a month, but I have to tell you that I’ve learned so much that I plan to keep paying that for a while. It’s soooo worth it.

12-Week Intensive

In this series, two guys named Harris and Merlin have gotten some very big names to show up. The series has actually lasted longer than 12 weeks, and the amount of information that you can pick up here is just incredible. Pay particular attention to Mike Filsaime’s ButterFly Marketing call. Wow! But there are other names you’ll recognize, like Mark Joyner, Yanik Silver, Gary Halbert, and on and on. It’s awesome! You can listen later, too, via the 12-week Intensive toolbar for IE or Firefox.

Focus4theFuture Seminars

I’m biased here because I can actually attend these each week. I’ve learned so much that I really look forward to going and really can’t surf while I’m enjoying these. The amount of information that Robert Puddy and Richard Taylor put out, in addition to what their speakers have to say is astounding. You can attend the seminars, which I highly recommend since they’re at 7 p.m. EST (GMT -5), or you can listen to recordings at the site later on.

Anyway, those are just a few of the great places to pick up info, while surfing. I could name about a gazillion more, but you get the idea. Find places that offer recordings later on and make your sufing time doubly productive. Earn while you learn!

Hmm… where have I heard that before? :-) Ciao!
