Have a Surfing Party!

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

StartXchange now gives teams a surfing bonus when more of the team is surfing at the same time! Your team can now start surfing parties, and you can all get together and surf. Better yet, you can do it and have some kind of instant messaging chat going on. Then you can share any cool pages you come across with each other!

Concentrate on fewer exchanges

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

I’ve found better response by surfing more on a few exchanges rather than surfing many exchanges for shorter periods of time.

Unique traffic is not always good. You want your sight to be seen by the same people multiple times. Once they see it several times, they are more likely to stop and pay attention to what you are selling.

You will still advertise to about the same number of people because other surfers use multiple traffic exchanges also.

Try this. Surf 5 exchanges for 2 or 3 days, then rotate to another 5 exchanges for the next 2 or 3 days and so on instead of surfing the same 20 exchanges everyday.

Making traffic exchange campaigns work

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

Do you want me to take a good look at your offer when I see it on my favorite traffic exchange? Do you want me to respond and get more information? I really do want to see what you have to offer, but I don’t want to wait forever for your page to load, and no matter what you’ve heard, your sound bite isn’t going to make me wait longer, either. I’m trying to earn credits for my campaign, and I’m only going to give you some of my precious time if I can see your page quickly, so that I can make an informed decision and move on. There are a few things you can do to make sure I stay and read your information, rather than clicking through to the next site in rotation.

1 Your page has to load fast, or I lose patience, and when the timer runs out, I’m going to click. Limit your graphics to just a logo and a small picture for illustration.

2 Use a splash page for your traffic exchanges. These load much faster, and put less of a load on my connection. I’m less likely to move on the the next site if your information is right in front of me.

3 Take the time to add the content I need to rouse my curiosity, and give me a link or button to click that will open your site in a new page. This will enable me to look over your offer while continuing my surf session.

5 Go ahead and offer me information in my email. Use a simple subscription page attached to an autoresponder, or better still, to your email so that you can give me a personal response.

4 Save the sound effects for your main page. If you are promoting an affiliate page with sound, take the time to build a gateway or splash page, so that I will want to click through to your main page.

5 Take the time to proofread your copy. Nothing will turn me off of your offer faster than several misspelled words or grammatical errors.

6 Avoid using a lot of Flash. I know it’s pretty, and I know a lot of us use it, but if I have dial-up your page is not going to load in less than 20 seconds for me, so I will probably never see it.

I know these tips seem pretty basic, but you will notice a better response to your traffic exchange campaigns, which will greatly increase your success with your business.

Things to Remember Before Investing

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

Do Due Diligence. Research the program you want to invest in.

Spread your investments over multiple programs.

Always make minimum spends first to test the program before investing.

Get your investment back as soon as possible; do not use compounding until you get your initial deposit back.

Be prepared to lose. Learn from your mistakes. Never invest what you cannot afford to lose.

How To Get More Traffic While Surfing

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

Did you know that you can more traffic to your websites while surfing traffic exchange programs such as StartXchange?

How?

When you surf through various sites, sometimes you see sites such as Hits2U.com where you can promote your sites for free, where they ask you to enter your sites url and email address but you don’t do that, instead certain Hits2U affiliate page have links to their ‘guestbook’ which allows you to leave a comment about their sites or to say hello. Some guessbooks allows you to enter your website url. When other visitors reads your comment, some will click on your name out of curiousity which will take them to your websites.

From time to time you will also see blogs while surfing. You can leave a comment on those blogs if you find it interesting or if you have anything valuable to share. Each time you leave a comment, use your real name for branding purposes. Again, each time you leave a comment you can add your website link which in turn will get you more inbound links as well as traffic.

Members of trafficwave.com can also promote an affiliate page where other people can leave a link to their website and email address for other surfers to see, even though it does break frames in some traffic exchange while you surf, I still believe it’s worth the effort.

Remember that when you leave comments in other peoples sites thus breaking your surfing sessions for a moment, you are giving your fingers and wrists a much needed break plus some extra exposure to your websites at the same time.

Don’t Forget Downline Builders

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

Most traffic exchanges have a section named downline builder. What this section is for is to add any referral IDs or usernames for other traffic exchanges or affiliate programs that you belong to and are presented to anyone who joins a traffic exchange under your referral.

This is an excellent place to gain extra downline members in other traffic exchanges or affiliate programs. Often this area is overlooked or ignored and the result is that if one of your downline referral members should happen to visit this area and sign up for anything listed there someone else will get the referral credit for the sign up.

It only takes a few minutes upon initial sign in to a new traffic exchange to fill out the details on this section and it should not be ignored. Once completed you will get those extra downline referral credits yourself instead of letting them go to someone else.

Be organized with your surfing

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

Being organized can help any surfing campaign. There are a few simple steps to accomplish this, no matter which exchanges you use. Other than the obvious, which is to surf regularly, these techniques can optimize your surfing experience.

1. Designate a specific time frame for surfing each day or as your schedule permits. Treat it like any other job, with a set start time and a set ending time of at least an hour or two. This could possibly the most important tip of all, because unless you surf on a consistent basis, you might as well not even try.

2. Use a splash page in the form of a lead capture page, and if you are surfing several exchanges, give that page a different tracking link for each exchange. In this way, you can keep up with not only who is responding to your page, but also where they originated. This way you can concentrate on what works best and eliminate what isn’t working. Experiment with different versions of the same page to see which gets the most attention, too. Even if you are allowed more sites in an exchange, limit the sites too no more than 10 for each exchnge. Your sites won’t be seen enough if your credits are spread too thin. If rotators are allowed, use them, but don’t overload the rotators, either.

3. Use a tabbed browser. It doesn’t matter if you use IE7, FireFox, or Crazy Browser. This way, you can surf several exchanges at the same time. Try to limit your surfing to no more than 6-8 exchanges so that you can give each page due attention.

4. All tabbed browsers have a “bookmark all tabs” feature. Use it to enable you to organize your favorite exchanges into one folder. This way, you can open all the exchanges at the same time. I know this only saves a few seconds, but in the world of traffic exchanges, every few seconds count.

5. Develop a relationship with both your upline and your downline. Both are a part of your network, and you should communicate with them often, if only to pass on encouragement.
If you have a program you would like to suggest, do so sparingly and communicate only the benefits of the program. This may seem difficult at first, but with a little practice, anyone can learn to make helpful suggestions without seeming pushy.

6. Be active in forums, especially those related to the traffic exchanges you are a member of. This serves not only to brand and promote you, but gives you an opportunity to hear about and discuss new things first. This, too is part of building a relationship with your colleagues who use the same traffic exchanges that you do.

7. Remember - All things in moderation. No one can surf all the exchanges. Be selective, and surf only the exchanges that work best for your needs. Upgrade in the ones that work best for you in order to earn a better credit ratio in addition to any other benefits upgrading will give you. Some traffic exchanges give little if any value to upgraded members, so know what these benefits are before joining the exchange. If you are unsure, ask in the forums. Someone is sure to give you an educated opinion about the exchange in question.

If you follow these tips, you will find that surfing exchanges is less stressful and more efficient.

Planning to Get Web Site Traffic

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

First, change your thinking…fast! It’s time to focus on the right priority or you will be filled with anxiety every month, wondering if you have enough cash to cover your advertising expenses, never mind the value of your time.

Second, start planning! You need to plan how to:

Generate QUALITY traffic
Build a list FAST
Create PROFITS online

It’s only when you have a written checklist that includes activities to cover all three of these steps weekly do you have the beginning of the plan. Without the first step, getting QUALITY traffic, the other two really don’t matter. So, avoid those offers of cheap traffic we all get and start implementing a schedule of weekly activity to generate quality web site traffic.
