Being organized can help any surfing campaign. There are a few simple steps to accomplish this, no matter which exchanges you use. Other than the obvious, which is to surf regularly, these techniques can optimize your surfing experience.
1. Designate a specific time frame for surfing each day or as your schedule permits. Treat it like any other job, with a set start time and a set ending time of at least an hour or two. This could possibly the most important tip of all, because unless you surf on a consistent basis, you might as well not even try.
2. Use a splash page in the form of a lead capture page, and if you are surfing several exchanges, give that page a different tracking link for each exchange. In this way, you can keep up with not only who is responding to your page, but also where they originated. This way you can concentrate on what works best and eliminate what isn’t working. Experiment with different versions of the same page to see which gets the most attention, too. Even if you are allowed more sites in an exchange, limit the sites too no more than 10 for each exchnge. Your sites won’t be seen enough if your credits are spread too thin. If rotators are allowed, use them, but don’t overload the rotators, either.
3. Use a tabbed browser. It doesn’t matter if you use IE7, FireFox, or Crazy Browser. This way, you can surf several exchanges at the same time. Try to limit your surfing to no more than 6-8 exchanges so that you can give each page due attention.
4. All tabbed browsers have a “bookmark all tabs” feature. Use it to enable you to organize your favorite exchanges into one folder. This way, you can open all the exchanges at the same time. I know this only saves a few seconds, but in the world of traffic exchanges, every few seconds count.
5. Develop a relationship with both your upline and your downline. Both are a part of your network, and you should communicate with them often, if only to pass on encouragement.
If you have a program you would like to suggest, do so sparingly and communicate only the benefits of the program. This may seem difficult at first, but with a little practice, anyone can learn to make helpful suggestions without seeming pushy.
6. Be active in forums, especially those related to the traffic exchanges you are a member of. This serves not only to brand and promote you, but gives you an opportunity to hear about and discuss new things first. This, too is part of building a relationship with your colleagues who use the same traffic exchanges that you do.
7. Remember - All things in moderation. No one can surf all the exchanges. Be selective, and surf only the exchanges that work best for your needs. Upgrade in the ones that work best for you in order to earn a better credit ratio in addition to any other benefits upgrading will give you. Some traffic exchanges give little if any value to upgraded members, so know what these benefits are before joining the exchange. If you are unsure, ask in the forums. Someone is sure to give you an educated opinion about the exchange in question.
If you follow these tips, you will find that surfing exchanges is less stressful and more efficient.
